LIFE AFTER FOOTBALL.

Harambee Stars and Ulinzi stars striker urges Players to prepare for life after football.

From being a top Striker to being a Kenyan soldier was an easy decision to make. The former Tusker FC player was caught in a mix when the opportunity came for him to join the defence forces of Ulinzi stars.

"In life there are changes and one day they will eventually pass. The moment you resist, the more the things become tough,we all want to grow and so we are bound to make a bold move, Remember,We are breadwinners in our Families and the responsibilities stared at us, I know I can't play this Football forever and that's why I never feared to make move," noted Muchiri.

The fate of a man is in his own hands. As a young man who values the counsel of the wise, Muchiri consulted his seniors then at Tusker including Hum Mieno,Jackson Macharia,Charles Momanyi and coach Matano whom he notes was a ' Father.'

A fateful decision was made; the hard way the only way.

"It is an oblivious fact that our football is not yet at top levels where we can term it an investment. I also understand that this game is a short career and therefore decided to take the challenge, join the military  and see what life can offer on the other side," says Muchiri.

After successfully passing out,Muchiri rejoined Ulinzi stars for the 2022-2023 Kenyan premier league which has regained top form.

According to him,Football players in Kenya should be more united and work towards alternative income generating opportunities like business investments,Saccos, side hustles and even gaining skills and experiences by furthering Education.
